VERSA Series Liquid Handling Workstations


The VERSA Series of liquid handling equipment has been designed to minimize their space requirements while providing greater versatility. This allows users to maximize the potential of their work. The VERSA Series of liquid handling equipment offers flexibility in size, volume range, and liquid handling modules for many custom applications. This automated liquid handler can fit almost any budget and fit into almost any laboratory environment. Aurora Instruments’s liquid handling equipment is ideally designed for many different sectors including academic research labs, pharmaceutical research and development, veterinary medicine, environmental research, forensics and security sciences, agricultural research and monitoring, and nutrition sciences.


VERSA 100 Workstation

This versatile single-arm liquid handler brings automation into small laboratory spaces. With it's nanolitre to milliliter pipetting and customization capabilities, the VERSA 100 is perfect for low-to-medium throughput liquid handling applications.

VERSA 1000 Workstation

VERSA 1000 liquid handling workstation

The VERSA 1000 liquid handler builds on the VERSA 100 by offering increased throughput and assay complexity while remaining a cost-effective piece of liquid handling equipment. This single-arm, multi-channel liquid handler offers researchers a flexible platform for medium to high throughput applications.

VERSA 2000 Workstation

VERSA 2000 liquid handling workstation

Featuring two arms capable of either liquid-handling or plate movement, the VERSA 2000 liquid handler expands on the capabilities of the smaller liquid handling equipment allowing researchers more application control and higher throughput. A larger deck footprint can accommodate a variety of modules necessary for many cell-based assays.

VERSA 3000 Workstation

With three robotic arms and an expanded deck size over the VERSA 2000, the VERSA 3000 liquid handler is able to fully automate a wide range of liquid handling applications, allowing researchers the freedom to “walk-away” during the protocols. Full-integration with other equipment (including incubators, bar-code readers and plate stackers) enables the highest degree of automation available within the VERSA liquid handling workstation series.

Liquid Handling Modules

Independent Modules

The major technological innovation of VERSA is in its precision dispensing (nL to mL range). The liquid handling components, which control all pipetting operations, consist of the following modules:

ReagentDrop

This dispense-only module is capable of delivering as many as eight separate reagents through independent reagent reservoirs. The ReagentDrop delivers fast and reliable bulk dispensing of liquids in the range of 1µL to 1000µL.

NanoPipettor

Offering efficient aspirating and dispensing functions ranging between 30nL and 350µL, the NanoPipettor module is ideal for generating parallel dilution series and performing array printing.

SyringePipettor

Three different syringe sizes, 25µL, 250µL and 1000µL, afford the SyringePipettor unparalleled volume range, making it ideal for multi-step applications.

Combination Module

The liquid-handling modules listed above can be combined in many configurations to perform more sophisticated liquid handling procedures.

For example:

DualHead, combining a Nanopipettor and ReagentDrop module for efficient nL dispensing and reagent addition, simplifies dilution protocols.

TripleHead, combining a SyringePipettor with two ReagentDrop modules, is a powerful tool for many liquid-handling protocols involving multiple reagent additions as well as sample handling.


Liquid Delivery Modules:

Single Channel Pump Syringe


Single-channel syringe pump module: controls the aspiration and dispensation of liquids
in the 1-20ul and 20-1000ul ranges from the single channel head.
 
8 Channel Syringe Pump

The 8-channel syringe pump module controls the aspiration and dispensation of liquids
in the range of 20-200ul.

Shaker

Controls 96-well plate agitation in the range of 100-2000 rpm in both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions for specified periods of time.

Fast Mixer

Slow Mixer

Plate Cooling/Heating Module:

Temperature Regulating Block

The Temperature Regulating Block controls the block/plate at a specified temperature ranging from 1˚C up to 80˚C.
Liquid Separation Module:

Magnetic Bead Separator

The Magnetic Bead Separator is a 96-well format adapter that is used to separate beads used during nucleic acid isolation protocols.
Plate Transport Modules:


Plate Mover

The Plate Mover is used to move plates from one deck position to the adjacent deck position on the platform along a linear path.






The Gripper


The Gripper controls plate movement from one deck position to any other deck position on the platform.
