The VERSA Mini is a small, automated liquid handling workstation designed to perform liquid liquid extraction (partition chromatography) from sample addition to organic phase removal, with high precision, throughput and accuracy. With a built-in temperature-controlled reservoir for solvents and a shaking block for sample mixing, Aurora Intrument’s VERSA Liquid Liquid Extraction equipment can automate procedures to partition samples for downstream applications.  The VERSA 110 liquid Liquid Extraction workstation and software have been specifically designed to perform most common liquid liquid extraction protocols. In addition, this system offers theflexibility and ease of use to allow researchers to customize their own extraction applications. While the system and software have been designed for applications revolving around liquid liquid extraction (partition chromatography) the unit is capable of performing many generic liquid handling tasks; such as: serial dilution, cherry picking, plate reformatting and plate replication. The VERSA 110 liquid Liquid Extraction workstation, when housed in an appropriate bio-safety cabinet, can be utilized to handle BSL-2 and BSL-3 agents reducing the risk of iatrogenic infections in laboratory workers. Partition Chromatography ApplicationsHigh-throughput application protocols requiring the separation of two or more solvents may use partition chromatography (also known as "liquid liquid extraction" or "phase separation"). The VERSA 110 LLE is suitable for many applications, including phase separation of phytoestrogenic isoflavonoids, extraction of 25-hydroxy vitamin D and partition chromatography of beta-carotene, prior to down-stream determination by LC/MS or HPLC. The workstation is also applicable for metal ion extraction protocols.
