Job Description for an "Account Manager"

Our sales department is looking for an Account Manager to achieve a territory sales plan by maintaining existing business, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and conducting cold calls to develop new accounts.

Role:

  • Direct sales to new and existing accounts in your own territory.
  • Develop strategies, with assistance from Management, to drive the business in your own territory
  • Maintain and increase current customer database in your own territory
  • Call on various management levels within assigned accounts which influence purchasing decisions.
  • Develop presentations and customer proposals for supply contracts and preferred vendor agreements with assistance from Management.
  • Participate in sales training programs as presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with the company philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services
  • Travel worldwide to participate/host in conferences, customer visits, seminars and training programs as required.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BSc degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Preferably with knowledge of membrane proteins, specifically, ion channels and transporters
  • Preferably with knowledge of liquid handling workstations
  • Laboratory experience an asset
  • Result-driven individual with upbeat personality
  • Willing to travel and represent the company at conferences and onsite visits on short notice
  • Industry and sales experience (with big ticket items) is preferred
  • Cold calling experience and account maintenance is preferred

Aurora Biomed is focused on developing and customizing instrumentation and methods for laboratory automation and HTS of ion channels. Our VERSA Automation Liquid Handling systems are designed for applications such as cell-based and solution-based assays, automatic serial dilution, array printing, peptide synthesis and IC50 preparation. Our Ion Channel Reader technology is used for HTS of potassium, sodium, and chloride channels, as well as ion channel transporters. Ion channels are targets for the treatment of diseases such as CNS, cardiovascular, pain and immune disorders.

Job Description for an "Inside Sales Representative"

Aurora Biomed is committed to providing enabling technologies to life science, drug discovery/safety, and chemical analysis research by providing solutions which offer higher throughput while maintaining quality, accuracy, and precision. Aurora's laboratory product range includes automated liquid-handling workstations, atomic absorption spectrometers, atomic fluorescence spectrometers, and microwave digestion systems.

Our sales department is looking for an Inside Sales Representative to assist account managers in maintaining existing business, developing incremental business in existing accounts, and conducting cold calls to develop new accounts.

Role:

  • Identify potential new business and help convert these leads to customers.
  • Research and develop new market segments/applications for our existing product line
  • Provide quality customer service by following through with all customer inquiries.
  • Follow up with leads and assess their research needs.
  • Promptly follow through with solutions to all customer inquiries.
  • Inform existing customers of new products or product changes to generate new revenue
  • Assist the account managers with administrative duties such as quotes, custom product requests and order processing.
  • Enter new leads from conferences, vendor shows or lists into customer database
  • May be required to participate in conferences, customer visits, seminars and training programs.
  • Develop presentations, flyers, technical notes and other marketing material with the support of product managers and the marketing department

Qualifications:

  • A min BSc degree in Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Preferably with knowledge on genomic, forensic, immunology or environmental applications
  • Result-driven individual with clear personal targets and goals
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team in a customer-oriented fashion.
  • Industry and inside sales experience (with big ticket items) is preferred

Job Description for a "Project Coordinator/ Service Engineer"

Our sales department is looking for a Project Coordinator who will assist the Project Manager in planning and executing the plan throughout a product’s lifecycle. This will include: gathering and prioritizing information regarding product and customer requirements, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support teams to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Roles:

  • Assist project manager in creating and executing project work plans and revising/changing the plan as required
  • Identifies resources needed for executing the project plan
  • Follow up with persons involved in the project, either within or outside of the organization, for smooth running of the plan
  • Develop presentations and customer proposals as required
  • Day-to-day duties of project administration
  • Act as a liaison between customer and engineering team
  • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as assumed or requested by the project manager
  • Implement quality assurance methodologies and testing procedures to ensure that the instruments satisfy customer requirements.
  • Provide assistance and training to customers covering instrument’s operation, software applications and hardware troubleshooting. WILL TRAIN
  • Mechanical assembly and set-up
  • Traveling to international destination is required for service and installation

Qualifications:

  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written
  • Microsoft office proficiency
  • Be able to multi-task effectively
  • Excellent team worker
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Minimum education requirement: Diploma in Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Robotics or Automation an asset) OR Degree in Engineering (Knowledge of molecular biology technique, such as, PCR, ELISA, LLE an asset)
  • No experience needed as it is an entry level position
